Terrorist Family Member Surrenders With Two Children in Borno

A suspected family member of terrorists, Mrs Yaganama Abdul, has surrendered to Nigerian Army troops alongside her two children in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State after fleeing a terrorist enclave.

A suspected family member of terrorists, Mrs Yaganama Abdul, 45, has surrendered to troops of the Nigerian Army alongside her two children, Yafatai Abdul, 9, and Guja Abdul, 4, in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that Abdul surrendered to troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion at about 4:00pm on August 28, 2026, after escaping from the Burari terrorist enclave. Preliminary interrogation indicated the family fled the enclave following violent clashes between rival terrorist factions operating in the area.

The escapees have been profiled and documented by troops as part of ongoing security and intelligence procedures. Security forces said the development provides an opportunity to gather further information on activities and internal dynamics within the terrorist enclave, and continue to encourage those seeking to disengage from terrorist groups to surrender through established channels.
